THE PROPOSAL
Kate and Billy were on an idyllic holiday, cruising The Bahamas. One of the stops was a picturesque beach in the Caribbean where you can swim with pigs! Kate had always dreamed of swimming with the piggies in The Bahamas and once they had ticked this once in a lifetime experience of their list, Billy got down on one knee and popped the big question to Kate. What an unforgettable moment!
THE CEREMONY
Blessed with a beautiful Hinterland autumn day, Kate and Billy gathered their nearest and dearest to witness their ceremony under the 100 year old Tallow Wood tree. This spectacular location on the Farm House property is the perfect space for a small or large scale wedding. The twisting, rugged branches create a natural architectural display that frames the wedding party and centres the couple at its impressive trunk.
Kate entered the beautiful space to the romantic and emotive “Songbird” by Fleetwood Mac. She met her beloved, Billy, at the heart of the tree, where Natalie Arnold from Under the Arbour, facilitated their wedding ceremony. Natalie guided the pair to share personal vows, expressing their love to each other in the presence of their bridal party and guests.
At the completion of the ceremony, Kate and Billy stepped out hand in hand as husband and wife to the sweet and playful “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer. This set the tone for the joyful celebration that followed as the couple smiled non stop throughout their perfect day and night.
THE RECEPTION
Kate and Billy were set on having a clear marquee with fairy lights to host their wedding reception. The space was set with three long banquet tables with pops of sage green and simple vases of flowers. With the roof lit up with an abundance of twinkling fairy lights, it was a magical setting for the couple and their guests to enjoy a night of delicious food, festive drinks, and non stop dancing.
Guests were treated to Farm House favourites, The Italian Job, for a sumptuous dinner, with drinks served by Little Rum Runner. This gave guests the fuel they needed to party with the bride and groom. With a dancefloor lit up with pyrotechnics, the newlyweds danced their first dance to “Something About You” by Odesza. It didn’t take long until everyone was up celebrating with Kate and Billy as they danced the night away.
THE DETAILS
Kate and Billy spared nothing for their wedding celebration. Kate’s approach to planning their wedding mirrors her advice for other couples – “If you want it – get it!” And that’s exactly what she and Billy did. They put together an unforgettable day and night with no regrets or what ifs. Floral displays and bouquets were bursting with beautiful roses as alpacas roamed the grounds interacting with guests.
The farm was lit up with thousands of fairy lights lining the clear marquee. Pyrotechnics ignited by the dancefloor, creating a spectacular stage for celebrations, while a showstopping “LOVE” sign illuminated the grounds. One of Billy’s highlights was walking around the grounds prior to the wedding, marvelling at how all these details had transformed the blank canvas into a wedding wonderland.
While all these details made for a visual feast, what created the most memorable moment, was seeing all their family and friends there to celebrate their love.
ADVICE
Kate and Billy planned the wedding of their dreams. There is not a thing they would change about their big day. Expanding on Kate’s advice of “If you want it – get it!”, she says, “Don’t cut out aspects to try to save money because the money will always come back – you won’t have another wedding.” We love this! She also advises that to reduce stress, have a good run sheet for the day. Kate suggests you start working on this as early as possible in the planning process to reduce stress leading up the big day.
