A bride and her group of friends celebrate on the dance floor

Fun Wedding Games

It’s impossible not to get inspired and excited by all the weddings that we host at the Gold Coast Farm House. Whether it’s a fabulous table setting, breathtaking bridal gown, or an epic bouquet, our couples continually surprise us with their creativity and inventiveness. We are privileged to witness all the fun new ways our love birds celebrate their I do’s. This includes all the little moments, like the wedding invitations and clever interactive party games offered at the celebrations.

Our latest wedding at the Farm House saw our couple, Meg and Braydon, create a fun and interactive game for their guests. While boarding the coach, guests were handed a copy of “The Wedding Post”, a personalised newsletter featuring all the details of the big day. Along with and order of events and an introduction to the wedding party, Meg and Brandon announced “Guest Awards”, with kudos given to those who had travelled the furthest/shortest distance, who was first/last to RSVP, and the couple’s longest friendships.

While this alone was a fun addition to the day, “The Wedding Post” also included a crossword with trivia questions about the couple and their lives. Guest were encouraged to fill it out before the reception, when a winner would be announced. This encouraged interaction, conversation, and healthy competition between the revellers. Plus, it got us thinking – what other fun activities would we love to see at our Farm House weddings? We love the idea of making the most of downtime and waiting periods by keeping guests occupied with entertaining wedding games.

Create a joyful celebration by including all your guests in the fun

Here are some cute ideas that can be included with the invitation or handed out at the wedding.

1. Couple’s Trivia Quiz

A small quiz about the couple with multiple choice or true/false questions.

Example:

How did Jack and Eliza meet?
A. At a concert
B. Through mutual friends
C. On a hiking trail
D. At work

One of Meg & Braydon’s crossword questions was “How many minutes long is Meg’s favourite song?”

2. “Guess Who Said It?” Game

Pick some funny or sweet quotes from the couple and ask guests to guess who said what.

Example:

“I knew they were the one when they cooked me breakfast after a night out.”
– Jack or Eliza?

Test your guests knowledge of your relationship with a little trivia

3. Fill-in-the-Blank Love Story

Write a short version of your love story with blanks for guests to fill in like a Mad Lib.

4. Wedding Crossword or Word Search

5. “Advice for the Couple” Card
