Laura & Chris | Meant To Be

Good things come to those who wait, and for Laura and Chris their wedding was well worth it. Having had to postpone and reshuffle dates due to pesky pandemics and beautiful babies, this gorgeous couple finally tied the knot at the Farm House with a fabulous festival of love. Laura was glowing with their third child on the way, as the stars aligned for the loved up pair to finally become husband and wife. Even forgetting the rings at the ceremony couldn’t stop them from finally declaring their unwavering love for one another. Laura and Chris were truly meant to be.

The Proposal

Chris’ proposal to Laura reads like every bohemian girl’s dream. A weekend away in their new Kombi van turned into a celebration of love with a few surprises along the way. The couple spent the morning apart catching up with their closest friends. After breakfast with her girlfriend Cass, Laura was sent to Spell and The Gypsy and told to give her name at the desk. She was then handed a stunning dress to try on. In Cinderella fashion, it was a perfect fit and Laura felt amazing.

With the dress already paid for, Laura was instructed to keep it on and head to Wategoes Beach. At this stage Laura was still not catching on that this was a proposal. Chris had recently been deployed overseas for 7 months, so she thought he was just doing something sweet. Laura and Cass drove the Kombi to Wategoes as instructed, and Chris was of course, waiting for her.

After telling her how beautiful she was, Chris took Laura by the hand and led her down a pathway along the beach. She heard their favourite music playing and noticed a grazing platter and some wine. The words “Marry Me” were written in the sand and as she turned around, Chris was down on one knee, ready to propose. All teared up, Chris couldn’t quite get the words out, but Laura replied with very strong “Yes!”

The CEREMONY

Laura and Chris exchanged vows at the point of the lake. With the lush National Park creating a stunning natural backdrop, the couple became husband and wife, sealing their commitment with a kiss. With a generous congregation, including their two sons, Laura and Chris could not have imagined a more perfect moment, until…

They had not forgotten the rings!

Fortunately, they could see the funny side and the mishap had Lauren in fits of laughter which put Chris and their guests at ease. Every good wedding has a memorable moment, and this was one the couple won’t forget.

THE LOOK

Laura and Chris opted for a modern bohemian theme for their festival of love. The men wore white under a neutral linen jacket with brown leather accessories. Their look was perfect for a day to night celebration at the Farm House. The little men, Laura and Chris’ sons, wore brown and white checked shirts with shorts and sandals.

Lovely Laura chose 7 gorgeous bridesmaids to stand by her side to share her special day. Dressed in varying neutral shades and earthy tones, the bridesmaids’ look was effortless bohemian chic. They complemented Laura’s stunning white lace dress with its low back and elegant long sleeves. She was an absolute vision with her pronounced baby bump shown off beautifully in the form fitting gown from Grace Loves Lace. Romantic hair and makeup completed the look.

The flowers were provided by the Flower Bar in Bangalow. Each bridesmaid held a simple bouquet of one type of bloom, with Laura’s bouquet combining them all into a beautiful soft palette with native foliage and a simple feature of orchids. The ceremony arbour was decorated with a burst of florals that framed the couple as they exchanged vows.

THE RECEPTION

Guest were treated to a delicious and casual dinner from That Pizza Guy, with sweets from Scheer Delight. The group danced the night away under the naked tipi, illuminated by twinkling fairy lights, and entertained by the Burleigh Boys.

Laura and Chris loved the stunning location of the Farm House in the Hinterland, and that they could choose their own vendors. Even with the ring mishap, their day was just how they imagined it – walking down the aisle, saying their vows, and finally celebrating into the dark with their closest family and friends.

ADVICE

Even though it was a long time coming, Laura and Chris had the most amazing day together. To create a celebration that is stress free and enjoyable, the couple recommend having no more than three choices and make your decisions quickly so you can move on to the next task. They advise not getting tied down to the little things and not to stress about getting around to everyone. Instead, let your hair down and try to take it all in.
