Why Pets are Always Welcome

The Gold Coast Farm House Loves Pets!

At the Gold Coast Farm House, we’ve always believed weddings should be a true reflection of your love story – and that includes the four-legged (or even two-winged) companions who’ve been there for the journey. Whether they’re stealing the spotlight during your walk down the aisle or curled up next to guests during cocktail hour, pets are part of the family, and absolutely welcome at our venue.

Since we first opened our gates, we’ve proudly hosted weddings where dogs have been flower pups, ring bearers, and even Best Dog. And over time, it’s only grown more adorable. From Great Danes in bowties to dachshunds in tales, and even the occasional alpaca and cat with a VIP pass.

What Makes Us the Purr-fect Pet-Friendly Venue?

Our expansive grounds and relaxed country setting make it easy (and safe) for pets to be part of your big day. Here’s why couples love bringing their pets to the Gold Coast Farm House:

Freedom to Roam: With large, open spaces and no city distractions, your furry friend can move comfortably through the celebration, with plenty of places to explore between events. If you’re planning on having your bestie at the wedding, we encourage you to bring them along to the viewing so you can see just how much they’ll enjoy it. Plus, we love meeting new pet friends.

Pet-Inclusive Ceremony Options: Whether your dog walks down the aisle or simply sits front row, we’ll help you plan the perfect way to include them in your ceremony. Depending on their temperament and how much attention you want them to have, there are endless ways of involving your fur baby in your big day.

We Genuinely Love Animals: This isn’t just a policy – it’s who we are. From the moment you mention your pet, we’ll be just as excited about them as we are about your florals and timeline! Apologies in advance for prioritising your pet over any other aspect of your wedding. We can’t help it!

Supportive Setups: From shady spots and water bowls to pet-friendly photo opportunities, we’re happy to help you think through the details. We want everyone to have a good time, including your furry friends. Comfort and safety is a priority, so let us work with you to ensure your day runs smoothly for all involved.

Fun & Heartwarming Ideas for Including Pets in Your Wedding

Need a little inspo? Here are some of the creative (and completely adorable) ways couples have included pets in their celebrations at Gold Coast Farm House:

Flower Pup or Ring Bearer: Dress them in a floral collar or secure the rings to a little harness pouch – either way, your guests will melt. We’ve had pups carry baskets in their mouths and safely delivered rings and flowers to the waiting couple. Even if mishaps occur, you and your guests will be too blinded by the cuteness to care.

Pet of Honour Photoshoot: Set aside time for some golden hour snaps with your pup (or piglet – we don’t judge*) as part of your official wedding photos. *Actually we’d love some little wedding piglets, or baby goats, or little lambs, or miniature ponies, or any other photogenic cuties.

Pets add warmth and a unique element to your wedding photos, especially when you dress them for the occasion

Custom Pet Station: We’ve seen couples set up pet water bars, shaded resting areas, or even a “doggy treat table” filled with snacks for furry guests. Be sure to treat your furry guest and make them feel special.

Matching Accessories: Coordinating bowties or flower crowns for your pet and bridal party? Yes, please. Dressing up your dog or pet adds that special touch and sense of whimsy to your wedding day. Yes, they will receive lots of attention, but that’s the whole point! Plus, the photos will be adorable.

Signature Pet Cocktails: Design your drinks menu with a nod to your best mate, like a “Mojito for Milo” or “Rosie’s Rosé Spritz.” Why not make the day all about them?

Tips for a Stress-Free Pet Wedding Experience

To keep things fun (and fuss-free), here are a few helpful reminders when including your pet in your day:

A Chaperone: Assign a dedicated pet handler or friend to look after them during key moments (especially ceremony time and photos).

Comforting Items: Bring along familiar items like their favourite toy or bed to keep them calm.

Refreshments: Make sure they get plenty of water, rest, and attention throughout the day.

Special Treatment: Let us know in advance if they have any special needs and we’ll do our best to accommodate them!

More Than Dogs | All Pets Welcome!

While dogs are definitely the most common wedding guests we see, we’ve had a whole range of special animals make an appearance. From birds perched on shoulders to alpacas posing in photos, we’re always open to the idea of celebrating with your kind of pet family. If you are planning to include your pet in your wedding celebration, feel free to bring them along when you view the property. This will give you an idea if it is a safe and secure environment that your furry friend will enjoy.

A Venue That Loves Your Pets As Much As You Do

To us, your pets aren’t a “plus one”, they’re part of the story. We know how much it means to have them by your side on one of the most important days of your life, and we’re honoured to offer a space where they’re not just allowed, but genuinely celebrated.

So if your dream wedding includes muddy paws, wagging tails, or a little wiggly piglet (please bring a piglet), the Gold Coast Farm House is the perfect place to make it happen.
